In 2022, Breitling Navitimer will celebrate its 70th anniversary. For 70 years, it has been loved by pilots and tastemakers, and has become Breitling's most iconic timepiece. In order to celebrate this important moment and pay tribute to the classics, Breitling retains the classic functions while integrating modern design. It also introduces bold colors and multiple sizes compatible with the wearing needs of men and women, fully demonstrating the modern retro style. And the brand is celebrating with not a single re-edition, but an entire range of Navitimers coming in 46mm, 43mm, 41mm, in stainless steel, and red gold.
All new Breitling Navitimer models now have a domed sapphire crystal over the dial, and the slide rule bezel isn’t as pronounced, slimming the watch’s cases a little (does it look like the bezel is simpler. Also, the older logo is gone. My favourite Navitimers have the golden-winged ‘B’ logo, I think they stopped making those around 2015 in favour of the wingless B. Either way, what we get now is the logo of the AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilot’s Association) which the Navitimer is the official watch of. The date window is now at 6 O’clock to make things more symmetrical too.
